Teresa has been a small-town girl for most of her life.  She and her husband of 28 years, Carlos, reside in Patterson.  A portion of their money goes to Valdosta State University where their son, Avery, is a junior majoring in criminal justice. The Leggett family are members of Patterson Baptist Church.

Teresa graduated from Valdosta State University with a master's degree in Early Childhood Education. She retired from Pierce County School System after teaching for 30 years. Teresa taught in all the schools within the system and was honored by her peers to be named “Teacher of the Year” at three of those schools.

Teresa is an elected council member for the City of Patterson.  She is actively involved with the Eagle Station where she serves as liaison.  Her wit and humor come in handy when she is asked to emcee for events hosted by the Eagle Station.

Teresa works part-time with both Patterson Pharmacare and Coastal Pharmacare.  Many of her weekends are busy helping couples with their perfect “I dos” as a wedding director.  Teresa knows that all work and no play makes for a rather boring life, so she escapes to the beach every chance she gets.
